# cheapstocks > A ticker directory, per-company balance-sheet analysis, a stock screener and a backtest > built directly from primary sources: SEC EDGAR filings (10-K/10-K/A XBRL statements, SEC > company facts including 10-Qs, the submissions feed and Form 3/4/5 insider data sets) > and a daily stooq price archive. No analyst estimates and no third-party fundamentals > vendor — every ratio is computed from the filings and the price, and links to its source. Every company page has a markdown twin at `/t/:TICKER.md` (or send `Accept: text/markdown` to `/t/:TICKER`). The JSON API is public, read-only and needs no key. Coverage and limitations: - Filings are 10-K and 10-K/A only. Amendments (10-K/A) are included as distinct filings. Foreign private issuers that file 20-F or 40-F instead of a 10-K are not covered. - Financial statement figures come from each filing's structured XBRL. XBRL only exists from roughly 2009 onward, and a handful of filings from 2009-2011 still lack usable XBRL — those periods are absent rather than estimated or backfilled. - Derived metrics are computed only from reported figures; a metric whose inputs a company doesn't report is shown as unavailable, never estimated. No analyst figures. - Only companies still filing 10-Ks are covered: delisted companies drop out, so the screener and backtest are subject to survivorship bias. OTC-only stocks have no price data. - Insider trades come from SEC's quarterly data sets and lag by up to a quarter. - Daily prices are sourced from a stooq.com bulk archive and are back-adjusted for stock splits. Whether dividends are also back-adjusted is unconfirmed. There is no raw/ unadjusted price column available. - Not every listed company has a price file — only tickers matched against the stooq archive do. A company can have filings with no price data, or (rarely) the reverse. - This is informational data, not investment advice. ## Pages - [Home](https://cheapstocks.app/): a searchable directory of every US company with a 10-K on file at SEC EDGAR. - [Company page](https://cheapstocks.app/t/AAPL): `/t/:TICKER` — daily price history with valuation multiples (P/E, P/B, P/S, P/FCF, EV/EBITDA); a balance-sheet analysis (net current asset value, net-net working capital, tangible book, common-size balance sheet, liquidity and leverage, Altman Z″, debt maturities, Piotroski F-score, Beneish M-score, accruals, revised figures, ROIC and DuPont ROE, per-share values, a reverse DCF, auditor, going-concern note, red-flag 8-Ks, late filings, 13D/13G stakes and open-market insider trades); plus the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow, merged period-by-period across every 10-K and 10-K/A the company has filed. - [Screener](https://cheapstocks.app/screener): every active filer with the latest of those metrics, with preset screens (net-nets, below tangible book, Piotroski value, insider buying, cash yield, red flags) and CSV export. - [Backtest](https://cheapstocks.app/backtest): the screener's balance-sheet and valuation screens replayed on every yearly rebalance since 2011, using only figures already filed on each date, with each year's holdings, returns and equal-/cap-weighted benchmarks. ## Markdown versions - [Site overview](https://cheapstocks.app/index.md): pages, API and caveats in markdown. - [Company page (markdown)](https://cheapstocks.app/t/AAPL.md): `/t/:TICKER.md` — company facts, JSON API links and caveats for one ticker. ## API - [GET /tickers](https://api.cheapstocks.app/tickers): the full company directory. - [GET /prices/:symbol](https://api.cheapstocks.app/prices/AAPL): daily OHLCV history for a ticker or CIK. - [GET /filings/:symbol/:statement](https://api.cheapstocks.app/filings/AAPL/income_statement): merged historical income_statement, balance_sheet, or cash_flow data for a ticker or CIK. - [GET /fundamentals/:symbol](https://api.cheapstocks.app/fundamentals/AAPL): annual and quarterly (trailing-twelve-month) derived fundamentals from SEC company facts. - [GET /profile/:symbol](https://api.cheapstocks.app/profile/AAPL): SIC code, filer category, auditor, going-concern note and notable filing events. - [GET /insiders/:symbol](https://api.cheapstocks.app/insiders/AAPL): open-market insider purchases and sales. - [GET /screener](https://api.cheapstocks.app/screener): the screener's full data set. - [GET /backtest](https://api.cheapstocks.app/backtest): point-in-time screener snapshots at each yearly rebalance date, with every company's return to the next one. ## Optional - [Full company list](https://cheapstocks.app/llms-full.txt): this file plus every company page as a markdown link. - [Sitemap](https://cheapstocks.app/sitemap.xml): the screener, backtest and every company page currently in the directory.
